Let me tell you a true story.
First you have to understand I didn’t know Kathy, or details about her family, her parents, etc.
The first time I met Kathy was the day she came to Inspired Photography for this family portrait session. She is here with her husband’s side of the family, all smiles!

When I began to proof the images after the session, I noticed something different in some of the photos with Kathy & her daughters in them. I found a spec of light that couldn’t be explained. At first glance I thought it was lens flare from the morning sunshine, but after looking more it didn’t seem so. I took this image in the exact location with the in-laws, just a minute prior, no light. I took several images in this location, no light.

Until it was Kathy’s family, then I created this image with her family. Notice the red glowing light off the mom’s shoulder- This is what I still can’t explain.

Here is the same light, in the next frame.

And then 20 minutes later, in a different part of my yard, playing with her daughters it appears again.

I reached out to Kathy- Telling her about what I was seeing in the images. Again knowing nothing about her family. I messenger her a sneak peak and she wrote me back instantly- sharing it was a visit from her dad. Her father had passed away just a few months before this session. The grief still very much at the center of her life, she was thankful I shared my thoughts & those images with her. I was thankful to have had that amazing session.

Then we both in our own time cried happy tears. A blessing in a photograph that can’t be explain, only enjoyed.
