Class of 2009! What’s Your Story?
School is out and summer is right around the corner. This could mean many different things for various students, but if you are an upcoming high school senior, it is time for your senior pictures.  Senior portraits are something that most high school students look forward to and start planning for years in advance.  Students wonder which photographer they will go to, what clothing they will wear, and what their poses may look like.

For most students it is just a matter of choosing a studio and scheduling his/her appointment.  Barnett Portrait Studio understands that some students don’t have the opportunity to simply make that choice. Both Sherry and Kendall grew up knowing their families lived on a tight budget. When it was time for their senior portraits to be taken, money was scarce, and they both treasured the few senior portraits they could afford to have. Sherry made a promise she would one day give back to other deserving students that had the dream of sharing senior portraits. There are a variety of reasons that can prevent seniors from being able to have the portraits they are dreaming of.  Because of the rising prices, unforeseen circumstances, and various other hardships, many families are experiencing financial setbacks. Everyone deserves to feel the best they can feel through portraits. The hope is that Barnett Portrait Studio can help our community one portrait at a time.  Our goal for the class of 2009 is that everyone has the chance to share with others through portraiture.

The two scholarship packages will include: the session fee for an indoor/location session, one 11×14 wall portrait, senior folio, gift prints and wallets to share with friends and family. Applications are required to submit an essay (250 words or less) telling us why you (or the person you are nominating) deserves to receive one of the scholarships.  Awards may be based on either financial need or personal circumstances.  Applications are available at the studio, or by calling 507.387.4146

Please send the completed applications to the studio or drop them off during business hours (Tues-Sat 8:30 -5) For more information please contact Sherry or Kendall at 507.387.4146
                                  Or email us at info@barnettportraitstudio.com

Please forward this on to anyone you know you might be interested in submitting an application. We encourage students in Mankato and the surrounding towns to apply.
