Family of Fun

This past Sunday, was a warm muggy day here in Mankato, but that didn’t stop the Graupman family from posing for a family portrait session at  Sibley Park. When photographing families of this size(21 people) we set up a time and a location outside of the studio. I try to limit the in studio sessions to 10 people, otherwise it’s gets pretty crowded pretty fast.

Also on large family shoots I try to bring an assistant with me for crowd control. The children (and parents too) were so well mannered that there wasn’t much need for crowd control. So since Kandi came with me, I tossed a camera in her hands (Yes with my new lens 70-200 mm  EF L series lens, for those of you who’ve asked) and told her to take anything and everything. She rocked the camera and created some beautiful images I know the family will enjoy. Here is a mix of our work from this past Sunday!
