randomness from the heart

It’s early, for me that is and I’m up with so many thoughts racing through my mind. I feel older lately, as I rummage through the “what nows and what ifs”. Then  I remind myself that change isn’t always bad, in fact this change has felt pretty good. The out pouring of love and support from friends, clients, fellow photographers, and family has been amazing. As many of you continue to ask what will I do now, I am planning as fast as I can to get my own business started and not miss a beat.

Truth: this has been the hardest thing I’ve dealt with in a long time. I look around during the day as the portraits slowly come off the walls, the lighting equipment and backgrounds get packed away, my office looks so barren and I’m simply bummed out. I am turning in circles, trying to fill in the gaps, say my sweetest goodbyes(or better yet…I’ll see you laters) creating last minute portraits, and all the while still answering to the person who won’t be my boss in less then 72 hours. It’s weird and sometimes annoying.

My parents are coming to Mankato this weekend. It’s a God thing for sure, they are amazingly supportive in all I do, no matter what price. I am looking forward to seeing them. They remind me why I am a photographer, and why I have the passion to create something for life, about life, for you. Family…..they will always be your #1 fan, no matter how many family events I’ve missed because I’m photographing someone else’s family event, they continue to understand. Because of the love my family gives me, I am able to see it and capture in the lives of others. I can’t wait for my fresh start, I’m looking forward to everything!

Sherry,

The photo of you and your husband is awesome! I wish you the best of luck with having your own studio. I am sure you will enjoy your freedom of doing whatever you wish and I am also sure you will be great at it! 🙂

I can’t wait to see you and your new business!  Sometimes it takes a big change in our life (ie: the studio closing) to push us to do what’s really in our hearts!  It’s going to be fun watching you soar!!!
