When asking this couple how they have managed to “live happily ever after” for 60 years. Grandma quickly responded “Well, He’s always right” To which both my husband and I had a brief laugh. (After all that’s not the case in our house-Love you Luke)

I’ve pictured these images in my mind for some time. Getting the courage to ask my husband’s grandparents to do this with us was the hardest part. Celebrating their 60th anniversary this January, I had a great excuse to get my camera in front of them. With my side kick & husband at my side, we together created a story of devotion on the farm they have called their home since the beginning.

The ease and quiet spirited nature of this couple makes me smile.  I’ve only known them for for six Christmas’ but they have filled a place in my life & heart that was certainly an answered prayer, unbeknown to them I am certain.

60 of anything is a big deal, 60 years together is so rare and so special, that anyone who knows this couple will agree, “happily ever afters” do exist.
