A day that was off

We only have one tv channel at our home, that is we don’t have cable. Despite that, I still get so saddened at the amount of negative political campaign adds that run in the short time our tv is on. Does it make me un American to not want to sit through another add stating how someone did this awful thing…or will do this awful thing. I feel more human by pushing “power off” and going for a walk instead.

So I did, I went for a walk today with my friend Beth, who has seen so much, been to so many cool places and still in her amazing humble personality reminds me how simple life should be. I want to have a simpler life. Less paperwork, less of an agenda, more of nature, less tv adds about “medicine”, cars and life insurance, less places to be, but more people to see.

These thoughts(and many more) came to me today as I took a real day off from work. I had lunch with a friend, talked about the positive things we are trying to do to help others, went for a long walk, found a raspberry bush, and recalled how quickly 27 years have come and gone. It’s amazing how different I feel right now at 5pm, I encourage you to visit a friend, turn off the tv and have a off day yourself!
