Today is was all about the kids!

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Oh my! Just when things are looking well, down, then there are kids! Children who come bouncing in the studio, full of life, with no worries, no complaints about life, just glow with happiness. I am at the studio still it’s almost 8 PM. My last four sessions of the day were all families with little kids, it’s amazing how they can brighten’s one day. It made me miss my niece and three nephews a lot! They’re my favorite of course.

So studio business is great, I have 75 families scheduled in the next two weeks. How will it be done, not quite sure yet. I did a fundraiser for a local group, and they sold and sold and sold coupons! I am still expecting more calls to come in. I’ve kept it simple, 20 minutes in the studio, one background, one outfit, simple, and great. When I get a chance to see the images, I’ll let you see them as well. They are all new clients, so keeping my fingers crossed they’ll be hooked!

Here are the girls I work with. They run the lab and help out in the studio as needed. L to R Danie, Renee, Me and Kaili.

My best friend (bride of last sat) if off to Honeymoon, here is a picture from their engagement session we did. At their reception, we made this black and white, put it on canvas, stretched it and had guests sign it.

It’s a self proclaimed day off, with cat on my lap I listen to Ben Harper and some other acoustic happiness.. The wedding this weekend was a great success. The wedding party was the best I’ve ever met in all the weddings I’ve ever been to. They were so welcoming and helpful. I can’t say enough about how great they were.

Here is a part of an e-mail I recieved from the new Bride this morning….

“Oh my gosh am I exhausted!!!  But it was all worth it.  I just wanted to throw you a quick email complimenting you on the wonderful job you did.  We need to get together so I can do a testimonial for your website and talk about how absolutely amazing you are.  I honestly had so many compliments on you.  Everyone from our parents, to our wedding party  to our guests said how great and how fun you were.  You were a perfect match for our day.  We are so excited to get the pictures!!! What an unbelieveable experience!!! ” Marissa Black

Weddings are a hand ful, I don’t know how you do so many Amy, but this weekend was a blessing! and I look forward to the next one in Dec, over my birthday!

AS for this week, it’s all about Kendall, whom is my best friend and getting married this weekend, so off to her house I go to assemble programs!

Tomorrow I am photographing a wedding, It’s a couple that I truley respect, they are incredible people. My heart goes out to all their hours spent volunteering in the community. They have a little boy Gavin, he’s precious as well. I am feeling a bit under the weather….Amy?  I hope it not what you had? yikes! I can’t be  sick.

My family is in town today as well, Having a grand old camping time, miss them. I miss myself when I am with them, the “not at work” Sherry. it’s nice and destressful….is that a word? I think it’s my new favorite one.

I am going to Teax in Jan, which reminds me I have not get my tickets yet and I have to before Nov first, thanks for the heads up Amy, After this crazy weekend, I’ll call you, Monday….sometime, when things slllllow down. I may take the day off, just…..to…..be.

So this is it, I’ve decided to become a blogger, my coworkers think it’s the way to go, the new craze, etc and I’m jumping on the train. I am hoping it will keep everyone up to date on the going on’s of my life….one day at a time. The weather outside is pretty icky right now, cold and much like a fall day here in MINN. The studio is going to get a make over today, small one at that, but we’re cleaning for sure, painting some props and getting summer stuff packed away. Business has been great lately, overwhelmingly great. I missed a photo conference on Monday, sometimes there are truely not enough hours in the day.  But each day I wake refreshed and ready to go at another day head on….
