Before we know it October will be here (and blessed Fall colors too) and this happy couple will say their “i do’s”. Fall weddings are always bitter sweet for me as my joy for photographing another happy couple is celebrated, the reality of another wedding season coming to an end is realized. I am looking forward to this fall wedding with much excitement. Congrats to this happy couple!

Another precious child greeted us with her presence last week. For being less then two weeks old she had great personality. Raising her hand when she had a questions and even tossing up the peace sign to reassure us everything was fine. Her two big brothers dressed in blue and provided an unconditional love through the session. Congrats mom and dad!

These handsome brothers celebrate their 18 months milestone and 3 year birthday, wow how time as flown getting to know this family. We always have a good time playing make believe with the kiddos that  come into the studio. Mommy helped me out a ton by singing a family song and even falling to the ground a few times to make the young gentleman giggle at her.

I have to share a personal story about this big tough dad photographed in this family photo. When I was a kid in small town USA I discovered my bike missing from my front yard one morning. A day later we found my shinny pink bike high up in a tree about 3 blocks from my house. Relieved to had found it, I didn’t care how it had gotten there, but years later this, now father of three, fessed up to tossing the child’s bike in the tree. In a town of 1200 there wasn’t much  fun, so that the fun they created.

And year later in a weird train of events, I now get to torture him in a series of family photos. Just kidding, our photography is harmless, and down right fun most of the time. Here is the entire extended family of his, surrounded by more to love.

Let me explain…each October we celebrate Halloween in style by having a camping event here in Mankato at the Land of Memories campground. Rain Shine or freezing cold, the goblins come out in full costume to hand out candy to any other brave campers still in the area. My father is pictured here as…..scary grandpa? The irony of this outfit is that he would never wear gym shorts or a sweatshirt….that is the costume.

Thanks dad for all you’ve done. Its been a honor to call you dad, and learn all that you teach. You help me out in many endless ways and motivate me without ever saying a word. I am completely blessed to call you dad, God bless this year for you.
