A warm Janesville, Minnesota Wedding

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

I spent the coldest day of the year (remember in Nov, the day with sleet and ice etc-that day) with the warmest hearted couple I’ve met in a long time. This couple was surrounded by friends and family in the little village I like to call a home away from home, Janesville.  Like any day in Minnesota, we knew there was a good chance of snow, but the bride was a trooper. In the few outdoors images we were able to catch before the sunset, the bride stood in flip flops as the snow sprinkled (okay sleet pelted) down. It was a bit magical being in that fun Minnesota setting, the snow quietly falling down around the bride and groom. Thank you for choosing me to create these images for you.

A Perfect Day for a Happily Ever After

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Once upon a time at a winery not too far away, I was honored to photograph a very sweet bride and groom.  I have my husband Luke to thank for his skills as my second photographer, going above and beyond for this bride and groom. Here are some of the images we created for the precious couple. Congrats to this amazing bride and groom, it was a blessing to have worked with you this summer!

Instead of the traditional guest book, this couple had their guests write messages on rocks, here are the bride’s parents creating their love story rock.

Fate & Color & Laugh out Loud Photography

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

On my drive to every wedding ceremony I think of a few words I want to use to tell the wedding story of the day. Above and beyond the typical magical images I want to create I pick one theme word. (ex Repetition, Angle) This wedding was a three hour drive for my husband and I, and the word that kept coming to mind for me was COLOR. (I knew very little about the ceremony except that is was outside) To my great surprise, there was COLOR everywhere. Vashti, the elegant bride choose Color for herself, by selecting an array of ways to bring it into the wedding.

I was as smitten as always about photographing a couple in love, but this wedding left me speechless and teary eyed and laughing right out loud many times during the event. I had a great time working with this couple, the wedding party and their supportive families. When I sat down to proof out the wedding I had all those same emotions again, falling right back into the memory of that day. Thank you Vashti and Taylor for including me in such an important day at the start of your life together.

Blessing you Both on your happily ever after!

A Golden Day

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding day maybe since I met the bride photographing her high school senior portraits. Our paths would line up again years later when we worked together and shared a solid friendship. I was honored to be a part of Danielle & Bryan’s amazing day. Perfect weather, a beautiful theme decorated with Gold and black, and the couple surrounded by many friends and family. Tears of joy were around every corner, and well as some great dance moves and big smiles from everyone….making this a day I won’t soon forget! Congrats Danielle and Bryan on your July 30th Wedding.
