A warm Janesville, Minnesota Wedding

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

I spent the coldest day of the year (remember in Nov, the day with sleet and ice etc-that day) with the warmest hearted couple I’ve met in a long time. This couple was surrounded by friends and family in the little village I like to call a home away from home, Janesville.  Like any day in Minnesota, we knew there was a good chance of snow, but the bride was a trooper. In the few outdoors images we were able to catch before the sunset, the bride stood in flip flops as the snow sprinkled (okay sleet pelted) down. It was a bit magical being in that fun Minnesota setting, the snow quietly falling down around the bride and groom. Thank you for choosing me to create these images for you.

In the Heat of Love

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

Cheers to this happy couple whom I’ve know for a few years. I met the Bride Dena a few years back when she was a high school senior. Her and her family have played a big roll in renewing my excitement for photography each time they hire us for a session. This wedding was no different. Travis and Dena chose the Indian Island Winery as the ideal location to say their   “I do’s”. One of the highlights of the wedding was a balloon release prior to the reception beginning, this was the first time I had seen one done at a wedding, and it was very sweet. Here are a few of the other sweet memories from the day.

Inspired Photography Donates $500 To MS Walk Mankato, Minnesota

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

With the help of a few loyal customers and a new amazing friend Annie Weber, we surpassed our goal of $150 and raised $500. We used that money to show our support and walk in the annual MS walk here in Mankato.  Aside from the pure love of photography…..making a difference in the world is really the driving force behind “what I do” aka my job.

Not all photo shoots are beautiful white wedding gowns and cake eating toddlers, as amazing as they are, I fill my schedule with hours of volunteer shooting every year. (p,s Don’t be afraid to ask) I rarely turn down the chance to join the cause, esp when my children can be involved. I value the gift of time and it’s what I am able to give most of.

Lucas, Olivia (20 months) and Josiah (2 months) and I didn’t brave the out door five miles but did walk a great distance inside. It was the first time we tried out the double stroller, and it was heavier then I had thought! Here are the images I was able to create while walking and talking our way around the track
