Celebrate, 59 and counting
Tuesday, November 8th, 2011Today is my mom’s birthday. She says that from now on, each and every other birthday she will also be turning 59. My mom is a pretty sweet lady, always putting others before herself. For as long as I can remember she would take the most ordinary things and turn it into something amazing. I don’t know if I noticed it at the time, but I realize it now…just how cool she was when I was a child.
Every birthday party was filled with games, silly games, every holiday consumed with board games and inviting things to do, and every family gathering complete with a theme and most often prizes.
Thank you mom, for being the coolest.
Happy Birthday Mom.
My Son is a Super Hero
Friday, October 14th, 2011The other morning while bringing Josiah to his daycare room, one of the preschoolers eating his breakfast asked me politely “Why does that baby have a helmet on his head”. I responded with the first thing that came to my mind, “Well because he is a super hero and he needs it for all of his stunts”. “Oh” replied the big eyed boy and walked away.
It seems since Josiah started wearing his cranio cap on August 3rd we’ve had many people inquire about his “special hat” as we refer to it around Olivia. The truth is that because of his stiff neck as a newborn he laid one direction and flattened out his skull. The Cranio was designed to give him a more round about cranio. He has taken wearing it like a champ, 23 hours a day.
Josiah is now approaching what we hope to be his final weeks with the helmet and there has not been a quicker ten weeks. In August, October 30th seemed like a decade away. I’ve had these images brewing in my head since Gillette’s fitted him with his plastic ball of happiness weeks ago.

Feels Like Home

This past week the school system and the Ladies VFW of Fulda were recognized on Chanel 5. Here is a video about the benifits of living and loving the small town America that is Fulda, Minnesota.
