Mommy and Me

Friday, April 30th, 2010

This promotional event has taken place for 4 years now and we always have new mommies join in each year. We do this session right before mothers day to remind mommies how amazing they are.

This year we also partnered with a local Salon to give a give away to one lucky mommy photographed at our event. Thank you Alesia Slater of Alesia’s Hair Salon in Nicollet(for appointment call, 507.232.3250) for donating a cut and style to this years winner….Yeah mommy Rebecca!

Here are a few images from the day.

This Socks

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

This year for print competition I did one print a bit differently. I asked my husband to give me a title to work with and then I created the image. Normally for print comp you pick out images you feel strong about and then give them a Clever title.

His suggestion was “This Socks” and here is the image I created in camera

here is the final image submitted for print competition.

Along with 3 other images submitted this year.

Class of 2011 Senior Portrait Scholarships available through Inspired Portrait Photography

Inspired Portrait Photography, North Mankato MN, is offering our annual scholarship contest: Senior Portrait Scholarships for two deserving high school seniors graduating with the Class of 2010. The Scholarships awarded will be valued at $300+ in portrait credit. Applications are being accepted now through June 19th, 2010. Winners will be announced on Friday, June 25th, 2010.  The information bellow describes the application process, the qualifications and the reason why Inspired Portrait Photography has chosen to give these portrait scholarships.

Class of 2011
School will be out soon and summer is right around the corner. This means different things for various students, but if you are an upcoming senior, it is time for your professional senior portraits to be taken.  Senior portraits are something that most students look forward to and start planning for years in advance.  Students wonder which photographer they will go to, what clothing they will wear, and what his/her final images may look like.

For most students it is just a matter of choosing a studio and scheduling his/her appointment. Inspired Portrait Photography understands that some students don’t have the opportunity to simply make that choice. Our professional staff grew up understanding how our families lived on a tight budget. When it was time for our senior portraits, money was scarce, and we treasured the few senior portraits we could afford to have. Sherry then made a promise she would one day give back to other deserving students that had the dream of enjoying senior portraits. There are a variety of reasons that can prevent seniors from being able to have the portraits they are dreaming of.  Because of the rising day to day living expenses, unforeseen circumstances, and various other hardships, many families are experiencing financial setbacks. Everyone deserves to feel the best they can feel through portraits. Our hope is that Inspired Portrait Photography can help our community one portrait at a time.  Our goal for the class of 2011 is that everyone has the chance to share with others through professional portraiture.

The two scholarship packages will include: the session fee for an indoor/outdoor session, one  wall portrait, various gift prints, senior folio & wallets to share with friends and family. Applications are required to submit an essay (250 words or less) telling us why you (or the person you are nominating) deserves to receive one of the scholarships.  Awards may be based on either financial need or personal circumstances.  Applications are available at the studio, local high schools, by email at info@inspiredportrait.com or by calling 507.381.8007.

Please send the completed applications to the studio or drop them off during business hours (Tues-Friday 10 am to 5pm) for more information please contact Sherry Schultze at 507.381.8007 or send email to info@inspiredportrait.com

60 years, long time love

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

I was introduced to this couple over three years, and was honored when their grandchildren asked me to create something for them. Berle and Donna made their humble beginnings in a small town near the rural area where I grew up. 60 years later they are whole heatedly love birds. During my sessions I am eager to learn about my clients and esp their history. Each time they would recap a memory for me,  a sparkle came into their eyes.

Here are a few from the in home session I created in their living room. Stay tuned for more information on my Legacy of Love Portraits-self project.
