Here is another precious newborn. In the mix of all the new little ladies I’ve been photographing, I was able to meet this handsome little man. Its exciting to meet mom(and family) at the maternity sessions and then seem them again when they have a new little one. He was a beautiful little baby, and his handsome older brother was very proud.

These four kids are always a blast to work with, so polite, and excited about life. They always have a fun story to share. Here are some images from their holiday photo session.

As Chaotic as this image looks, it’s one of my favorite holiday 2009 images created….simply because its real. Yes, the youngest in front is telling us it’s nap time(he had just had a whole 1 year old photo shoot & family portrait session prior to this), the sweetheart in the middle is loving the camera, and the middle boys on the edges are adding a bit of their personalities to the scene. It was meant to be a photo with the kids showing off their special stockings, but this was as close as we got, LOVE it!

As Christmas day approaches I wanted to share with you some fun creative ways we celebrate the holidays.
The Alphabet Gift: My Mom comes from a large family and our gift exchange was simplified twelve years ago when my mom suggested we have a letter theme. The first year everyone was encouraged to bring a small gift beginning with the letter A. Each year following the letter would change to the next letter of the alphabet. It has been exciting to see what people will bring. This year the letter is L. I’ve been trying to find a creative way to box up LOVE, the greatest gift of all. What things can you think of that start with L?
The Ornament Exchange: We recently celebrated Christmas with my family this past week and began a new tradition, involving tree ornaments. The idea is that we exchange a gift free of cost with each other. Our family was encouraged to bring a tree ornament(off of their own tree) with meaning that they were willing to part with, wrap it up and include a little message that tells the story of that ornament.
Trivia fun: Another free tradition we have is holiday trivia. Here is a link to some things you may want to try with your family. Buy a few things at a dollar store to the quickest player with the most correct answers to rev up the competition.
I can’t help but smile at all the little princesses I’ve photographed this Fall. The little ladies are excited to show off their special dresses and dance and jump around in anticipation for the holidays. Here is a sweetheart I’ve worked with for a few years. Her mommy is a florist and a loyal customer of ours. Her mom confessed she spent an afternoon in the yard trying to photograph her princess by herself, ”but none of those images turn out and that’s why I wanted to go to Sherry”. That determined mom was working the day we were able to fit her in, so grandma brought this sweetie to the studio, she was thrilled to preform!
