Tonight Kendall and I are taking part in a fundraiser benefitting the Mankato Mother’s of  Preschoolers (MOPS) of Mankato,

Silent Auction 7-9pm
Live Auction 9pm
Dance 8-11pm

$15 for advance tickets
$18 at the door

Free dance lessons with a skilled instructor from 6:15 to 7:00 before the event begins. Tickets can be bought at both Hy-vee Locations.

Look for auctions items from Barnett Portrait Studio both on the live and silent auction! Kendall and I will be there enjoying some the social event, purchasing some great items and photographing bits and parts of the evening as well! We hope to see you there!!

Sick. Ick.

So I’ve been fighting a nasty sickness all weekend. It began Saturday with a burning feeling in my chest, that developed into a cough, a nasty nasty one! I tired to get back to work today (tuesday) but to no avail I’m back on the couch, with my trusty new laptop.

I get sick often, I feel like more then the average person. But this…whatever I have caught this time, is not fun. When I cough, my head hurts so bad my brain feels like it’s going to come out of my forhead.

Despite the illness I had a blessed weekend with new and old family and friends. On Saturday we had a co-ed bowling bash for members of the wedding party and some close friends! Pictures to follow soon! Then on Sunday, in between coughs, Luke and I were blessed with a shower in his home town of Wilbert, MN. Many people came together to pour out their love and support for our up and coming marriage! Many people were excited to share stories of Luke’s childhood!

We are very blessed to be surrounded by people who show their love unconditionally…..both at work and at our homes!

So you ask yourself, Where are the pictures? Yes, I have been photographing as well. I have seen families, many children, and even a few students from the class of 2008

In my thoughts and prayers are the children of cottonwood.

It seems that when a tragedy happens we become closer, or rather the world shrinks a little bit and the ripples of the tragedy are felt far far away.

The Javins brothers are relatives of a couple at my church here in Mankato. Todd and Lynn Javins are two of the most caring people I know from Mankato. Lynn is in charge of children’s ministry at Hosanna and  you will find Todd volunteering to help out where ever he can. The brothers are Todd’s cousins children…..the ripple is felt, and tears fall. It’s likely you know some one affected too. We all are.

Please keep the Javins in your prayers, as well as the other children and their families. Hug your children, and take more photos of them then you ever have time for.

Meet Avery and her Family!

There is no stopping how much Avery loves to play! Mom and dad are always willing to use well known tricks to keep her smiling, even through three outfit changes! They make such a beautiful family, it was a joy to photograph them interacting!
