My Rant About People Who Steal…….

Why on earth do you need to take people things? Those things are not yours! Work your own long hours and save up your money to buy things yourself! Is your life really going to be all that better when you have someone else’s stuff. Part of the joy of having things is because we remembered how many days we worked to finally save up the money to buy it. And you, whoever you are, come in like it’s your hard earned thing and take it. What are you going to do with it now? It’s not your memories poured into it, not your photos, and poetry and skits, and wedding planning lists saved on it! You’ll probably sell it to someone else, who could also care less about the memories I had saved on it. grrr. I haven’t been angry in a long time, and I’m angry……at you for taking my laptop.

I realized Sunday afternoon, after working the two longest, hardest weeks of the year, that I was stole from. My roomates said they heard a commotion Saturday at 6 am in the living room, but thought nothing of it because we are coming and going all the time. Somebody walked into our house and pick up my roommates snowboard and my personal laptop and walked out….all while we slept. 45 minutes later and I would have been in the shower getting ready for work. grr.

Hours upon hours of stuff is on my laptop. I know I should have backed it up. but just like that GONE…..all of my pictures from new orleans, GONE, all of my wedding planning, GONE, all of my skits and plans for my local church, GONE, personal poetry, memories, and my parents 25th anniversary slide show, GONE.

What drives people to steal? I can’t remember EVER stealing, uhg I am so….sad, heart broken, bumped completely out. For those of you who know me….you’ll agree that besides my engagement ring…my laptop was the only thing I even owned with value to it(if you don’t know me, I’ll show you my car, it’s not nice), I don’t have a lot of stuff, and it was a big commitment for me to even purchase one….and despite whatever I can come up with, reasons I didn’t deserve to be ripped off…..it’s still GONE.

Greetings friends and family! I had Kendall run some numbers recently, only to find out that we’ve have averaged 5 portrait sessions a day for the month of October(that means we’re busy), and we can only foresee a busier November. That explains why I have not blogged lately. I would love to tell the story of each and every person who graces the doors of the studio, but at time has it I’ve been busy getting stuff to the lab and then back to you guys! I am at home now for the day, I’ve had some pizza and now I am watching Johnny Depp (I Heart Johnny Depp)! Fhew resting for…tomorrow!

I enjoy this time of year. It’s like the melting pot for the portrait studio. We have high school seniors rushing in to get wallets and beat the year book dead line, we have small children with ringlets and plaid skirts sharing stories, families gathering together for Christmas cards, and everyone getting exciting for their holiday portraits. Everyday I go to work is different then the one before, and I look forward to….tomorrow!

For a Friend of ours….

Her mom wanted a session in Pj’s, looking like she was in my a spot light, Bella (pictures below) was all playful, smiley and very excited to be there, even with mom out of the room. Amy, (Bella’s Mom) I can’t thank you enough for the business you continue to generate for our studio. We truly can’t express how grateful we are to photograph your family. All of the great things you say about your work has been a blessing to our lives!

Here are a few of my favorites, but see the entire slide show to see the beauty that is

Here is a peak at what we’ve been up to in the studio lately…..Each Fall we do a fund-raiser for a local group called MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers-see previous post CLICK HERE to learn more) The MOPS group is given coupons to sell at $10, with that profit going back to the Mops organization. We provide the clients with a session and a 10×13 of their choice from the portrait session. It’s an opportunity for everyone to afford a family portrait, and for our studio to meet new clients. I have had the joy of meeting some great children and families….as exhausting as the sessions can be, I look forward to it every year!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

We have been busy sorting files, photographing families & children and getting ready for the happiness of the holidays! Yesterday we had a great morning and a great visit from Amy & Bella (Hi ladies) as well as an afternoon filled with appointments in the studio. Today things are a little back to normal with only one senior session and two families, fhew! October is always a busy month for us, but Fun VERY Fun!

Here is a family that come in last week-amid the rushness-. They first came her for a required church directory photo this summer and enjoyed our service and portraits so decided to bring their daughter in as well! Yeah for new clients. Here are some of the proofs from her session…
