S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y…..NIGHT

Saturday is here and we have had a blast! Kendall & I have had visitors from all over the state! Most of our clients are from here in Mankato, but this week we had people from Amboy, White Bear Lake, Waterville, Shakopee, Janesville, Kasota, & even New Ulm Minnesota. I often tell people how I don’t “get out much” but because of my job I still get to meet special people from all over the state. There is much to say about this past week, let me leave you with a small look backward…….

Presenting Our High School Seniors from this past week….

Kyle…

Meet Kyle, a high school senior who attends Mankato East High School. He is a member of the Cougar Football Team, and Mankato Area Lacrosse Team.  I first met his family when Lauren his older sister came to us for her senior portraits. Their mom (Hi Mom) is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. They have such a sweet family, always telling jokes to each other and making me laugh.

For Kyle’s photo session we had some fun with his sports stuff. I learned all about lacrosse, a sport I am not too familiar with. Sounds like you have to be pretty tough to play! I learned also that Kyle’s nickname is “Shortbus” so his mom had a fun prop to work in as well. For his location portraits, we enjoyed one of the most beautiful days and went to Minneopa State Park.

Here are some portraits from his session

The Grunewalds…

This special family drives all the way from White Bear Lake for their portraits. I must commend Tonya (mom) & Chad (dad) for their awesome job raising these kids. It is a joy for us to photograph them, they are always fun to play with! It’s been exciting watching the family grow and mature. Here are a few images from the session they had this past weekend. Thanks to grandma, who is handy at making things, they all had matching hats on, perfect for holiday cards!

This is what Tonya had to say about her time spent with Barnett Portrait Studio….

Barrnet Studios and Sherry in particular are well worth the hour and half drive from White Bear Lake ,  MN .  We have our pictures taken 2 to 3 times a year.  We have 3 small children from the ages of 3 to 6 months.  We started going to one of the chain studios in the metro area for our fist two kids baby pictures.  The pictures were okay but I always hid the cost from my husband because I did feel the shots were worth the money.  Then we gave Barnett a try.  Sherry is so wonderful with the kids.  She gets great shots, has wonderful ideas if you are not quite sure what you want and it’s not like a photo session for kids it’s more like play time.  She has also taken great family shots for us.  Every year we have our Christmas card photo taken and printed at Barnett.  Sherry has had an assistant Kendall.  Kendall has been great with the kids also.  I just have to say that we love having our pictures taken at Barnett and Thank you to Sherry and Kendall, we love you.  The kids especially love you guys!!!!

In My Free Time….I Photograph…

…..this weekend it was the farm, some of them taken by my Luke. Linda, my future mother in law(who is super cool) has all this cool crazy lawn art, I don’t think she’s thought of it that way, but Luke and I had a fun time giving titles to some of the works of art in her lawn…..

Is it Tuesday all ready?

Due to some of the disagreeable weather lately we’ve had a few session we’ve rescheduled, hoping for less wind, or even so…less rain. It always seems to work out for the better though, as we are glad to work around the Minnesota weather in hopes of some great portraits. Luke and I went to his home town of Ceylon Mn for a few hours this weekend. We had some high hopes of getting in some portraits of ourselves via the tripod and self trimer….however the wind did not agree and the sun set fast, so we didn’t end up with many, Here was one of my favorites.
