Check out the birth of a Faith Based website I’d recommend. It is in it’s infancy, but the maker would love your attendence and opinions to help it grow. The website is a blog with devotionals on faith, finance, & fitness, as well as other truths to fill you up. It holds the Good Truth. In the near future you will also be able to explore faith based art created by local artists.
In August, I’ll be going to New Orleans with a Mission group from Hosanna Lutheran Church of Mankato. We are flying south to help with the Katrina clean up. We will be staying 7 days at a place called Camp Restore, New Orleans This will be my first mission trip, and only my 3rd flight. The group I am going with i will meet tomorrow, I think, as of right now I only know Pastor Steve and his wife Mary, which is exciting as well, to go down south with a group of strangers!
I’ve been raising money to afford the flight, and the cabin costs for the last two weeks. I am so grateful for the help of out pouring love I have received. For anyone still interesting in donating to our cause I’ll be selling 8×10 portraits of my award winning print, San Antonio Winter at the studio. Things I’ve been thinking & probably talking about a lot lately…..
A Gluten Allergy …..it’s like a food allergy to a bunch of my favorite things like bread, and bread and did I mention Panara Bread? I’ve read a bit about it and it seems to make sense that I could have one. Kind of a bummer but it makes sense though that when I read for that extra dinner roll I’m going to regret it. Anyone know anything more about it I’d love to know. It costs quite a big to get tested for it, and really all that can be done is a change in diet.
Seeking the Kingdom First …I want to do more for other people. I find myself creating situations that are not Chirst centered, but I am eager to be better. I need to do more and talk less. I am very excited for a mission trip I am going on in August. Hosanna is taking a group to New Orleans to help rebuild after Katrina.
Names… there’s a lot to be said about a name, I guess. As my cousin gets ready to have her first child in less then 5 weeks, everyone wants to know what they’ll call him or her. I guess there are certain personalities traits linked with certain names. Although I am sherry and it come with certain meaning many people think my name is Shelly and that name carries a differenty personality, and that’s explains a lot!
Home… I need to make more time for it, my own home here in Mankato and visiting home literally.
Weddings… for a few reasons, but really just wanting to know how not to get caught up in all the foo foo stuff. It’s silly really how long it can take a person to decide on a theme or a color, or something specail font for the program, really I just want to see Real weddings, for the right reason. I have met some great brides in my carear, it’s been a joy seeing them begin their families, I am glad to have been a part of it..
Lately I’ve been creating self assigments do work on while I am not at work. Luke, the significant other, has become very interested in photography. It’s been fun teaching him the fundamentals or what I first learned. Each time we take a camera out together it’s like a little refresher course for me as well. Some of these images could be Luke’s as well, hard to remember. Mostly they are from Minneapolis. We took a weekend trip up there a few months back.
