Inspired Portrait Photography

It’s one of my favorite times of year again! Every spring we photography the Mankato Figure Skating Club prior to their preformance on ice. This years theme…GREASE on ice. Danie, Kendall, Brian and I are heading up to the skating rink real soon to start setting up for our long portrait session that takes place all day tomorrow. the staff works all day with various groups and individuals. The figure skaters rang in age from 4/5 all the way to seniors in high school. This will be my 5th year photographing the event. Portraits are used in the program, displayed at the event and purchased by the girls. I am very excited!!!

Some of the girls have been in to get their “character” portraits taken this week. Here are a few of their portraits.

We bring most of my favorite props up to the studio, really anything that fits in the van I try to bring with, I probably get carried away. But the one thing I forget to bring will be the one that I REALLY want, I am sure other photographer’s can relate!

I have been busy with Easter Cards, Baby cards and graduation cards lately. It’s one of my favorite things to do, play with images and be all designer-like!

It’s a beautiful sunny day here in downtown Mankato. We had the door propped open today to let some of the nice breeze in. As I mentioned we have been working on changing a storage room into a consultation area. The shape of the room is odd, really it’s actually a triangle, so we’ve been back and forth on where to put things. Next week we have to fit a desk & computer in a corner as well. Stop by and let us know what you think. I have imcluded some photos of the area for those of you tuning in from out of town.

From left to right in the inside of the room, We are looking to use this room to talk with familes, play with kids and visit with inquiring engaged couples about their portrait session.

Greetings everyone!

Tomorrow we are having a two day event. our “Swing into Spring is an annual event usually generating many new clients into the studio. Kendall is busy as work making the studio look all spring like. Are sessions always fill up fast because the clients get a few free portraits with a paid session. It smells like daisies in here, sweet, and the sun is starting to peak out!

here is a sweet little girl who came in two weeks ago. I have been working on getting slide shows to my clients so they can share the images with distant families and friends, this is one I created from this sweet-heart of a session. (I hope the up-load works!)
